Past Exhibitions

A few of our previous exhibitions

The Art House Cafe, Melksham 2017

Our exhibition from late November until  22nd December 2017
was very successful with six original paintings being sold.
Huge congratulations to Lindy Eggleton, Teresa Ledger,
Anne Deven and our latest member Barbara Oram. Barbara's
'Life's A Bowl Of Cherries' sold on the first day!

Three of our members also showed some
of their work in the Art House throughout the
month of May 2018.  Five paintings were sold and
20-25% of all sales went to Melksham Rotary Club to
help fund various charitable projects.

Our second exhibition at Holt, Wiltshire. Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th June 2018.

Thank you to all of those who visited our Summer Exhibition this weekend. It was fabulous to talk with many of you & the compliments expressed about the level of talent in our small group were wonderful to receive. We do have, and I’m blowing our own trumpet here admittedly, some superb amateur water-colourists & acrylic or oil users, whose artwork would stand up equally to many professionals. But, it is so good to hear that others think the same.

Another frequently expressed compliment related to the fantastic range of styles on view. One lady remarked to me ‘It’s so lovely to go from stand to stand and see how unique you all are. I’d love to know what inspires each of you - they are all so very different but so very good’.

Truly, whether people buy our work or not, what encourages us most is people really looking and taking an interest in what we have put on show. So thank you - it is very much appreciated. We were up against the local primary school 'Wild West Fete' & England versus Panama World Cup football but hey ho, we sold a number of paintings and did ourselves proud! (As did England thankfully at 6-1).

The Garden Cafe, Trowbridge 2016

We had a new exhibition for two weeks this October at the wonderful Garden Cafe in Trowbridge. Since the Garden Cafe is all about the Garden, our art work also reflected this. Congratulations to Teresa Ledger on her sale. Sadly, in January 2018, we heard that 'The Garden' was to close.

St Michael's Church, Hilperton

Thanks to everyone who supported our art exhibition and helped raise funds for St Michael's & All Angels, Hilperton. Thanks also to 'Ebonite' for their musical skills and to two of our members who recited poems. We had a great two days of meeting old friends & getting to know others whilst they viewed the amazing art work on show. And lastly thanks to those that bought our work - either in the form of an original painting, a print or cards. An ex Head of Art at a local school said it was possibly the best 'amateur' art exhibition he had seen & that our members were very progressive in the direction they were taking their art. Your support & very kind words are very much appreciated by us all at St.Mary's Art Group.😊
